A smooth and line free brow makes your face look younger and fresher however with age, skin on the brows and forehead tends to lose its elasticity resulting in eyes that look tired and upper lids that look heavy. An easy surgical remedy for this is the forehead or eyebrow lift.
A brow lift is a cosmetic surgery that smoothes the forehead, reduces frown lines, and elevates the position of the eyebrow line and removes excess forehead skin to achieve a younger, more refreshed look. An open brow lift and an endoscopic brow lift are the two techniques used to perform a brow lift; our surgeons at Divine Proportions will suggest the most appropriate technique for your specific case after a thorough examination.
A typical convalescence period for a brow lift surgery is around 2-3 weeks
You will be completely healed within a month of the surgery and will have a smoother brow and a refreshed look.
You are a suitable candidate for a brow lift if
Brow lift can be performed in 2 ways, the traditional brow lift and the endoscopic brow lift.
In a traditional brow lift incisions are made across the top of the scalp just above the hairline and the muscles are modified, excess skin or tissues are removed and the eyebrows are lifted. In an endoscopy brow lift an endoscope is inserted through several tiny incisions in the scalp and the muscles and tissues are altered and the brows are then repositioned.
You can leave the same day of the surgery.
You can get back to work within 7 to 10 days after your surgery.
You will notice a marked difference by the 3rd week after surgery and you will see the final result with a month of the surgery.
After 3 weeks however avoid strenuous sport activity till after 6 weeks.
Any scar resulting from a brow lift will not be visible as the incisions are made across the top of the scalp just above the hairline where your hair will cover them.
As with any surgical procedure there might be a risk of bleeding and infection. Sometimes there might be a prolonged numbness and itching. Very rarely there might be temporary hair loss at the incision sites.
You surgeon will be able to give you an estimate after examining your general health, your specific requirement, the technique to be used and the desired result.
