Lip reduction surgery is a minor cosmetic surgery procedure that thins the lip and pulls it inward to make it appear less full. At Divine Proportions we strive to provide you with the best results to help you look good and feel confident.

 

  • A lip reduction procedure takes around 15-30 minutes and is performed under a local or general anesthesia.
  • Anesthesia is administered between your lip and gums, deep down inside the chin. An incision is made along the length of your lip on inside of your mouth and strip of lip tissue or mucus membrane is removed from the lip before the incision is sutured.

A typical convalescence period for a lip reduction surgery is around 2weeks

  • Week 1 – you are likely to have pain, swelling and bruising.
  • Week 2 – after your surgery, sutures will be removed and you may return to work .
  • Sleep with your head elevated and do not sleep on your dace for two weeks following your surgery.
  • Avoid spicy foods and wash fruits and vegetables well before consumption.
  • Rinse your mouth with an antiseptic mouthwash.
  • Do not bend over or lift heavy objects for at least two weeks.

Are the results permanent?

Yes, lip reduction results are permanent.

What post-operative care should I take?
