Buttock enhancement is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is designed to enhance the size of the buttocks using silicone implants or fat transfer (or "fat grafting").

 

  • Buttock augmentation surgery is typically an outpatient procedure requiring between 2-4 hours.
  • When implants are used the surgeon makes an incision between the two buttocks and creates a pocket either above or below the muscle and inserts the implants before closing the sutures. Patient is required to wear a compression garment after the surgery.
  • When fat injections are used in buttock enhancement surgery, fat is harvested from another part of the patient’s body and carefully administered to the buttocks.
  • Pain, bruising and some discomfort can be expected post –surgery.
  • Patient can return to low intensity work few days after the surgery.
  • Full recovery takes a couple of months.
  • After surgery, you will need to wear a compression garment.
  • You should not lie down on the back for at least 2 weeks after the surgery.
  • You should wait for at least 4 weeks before gradually starting your exercise routine.
